We are seeking a professional, reliable and approachable Community Safety Officer to join our team in Southend-On-Sea! This role plays a key part in your local community. This is a flexible, ad hoc role, however candidates can expect a good level of regular hours, particularly during seasonal peaks, events and busy periods across Southend.
This is more than just a security role- you will be a visible, trusted presence within the local community, helping to create a safe, welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and local businesses. Your work will directly contribute to reducing anti-social behaviour and supporting the day-to-day wellbeing of the area.

Essential Criteria:
- Valid SIA Licence.
- A confident, calm, and community-focused approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to de-escalate situations professionally.
- A proactive mindset with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities or schedules.
Desirable but not Essential Criteria:
- Previous security or community safety experience.
Role Responsibilities:
- Acting as a key presence within the local community, building positive relationships.
- Providing a high-visibility patrol presence to deter anti-social behaviour.
- Engaging with the public, retailers, and stakeholders in a professional and approachable manner.
- Responding to incidents and supporting appropriate escalation where required.
- Conducting patrols to ensure areas remain safe, secure, and well-managed.
- Completing clear and accurate incident reports.

Hours & shift pattern:
0900-1700/ 1400-2200 Monday - Sunday
