Facilities Management Team

A look into a day in the life of some of our Facilities Management employees. We want to show you what Facilities Management is all about and what it's like to be in this line of work.

What is Facilities Management?

Facilities Management is referred to as a professional management sector, focused primarily on delivering a series of support services to the organisation in which it serves.

So, in a nutshell, we provide a varied arrangement of professional & effective duties to our clients, based solely on their individual needs & requirements; this ranges from gardening to maintenance & window cleaning.

You might see various updates & posts promoting our FM services, but do you know much about the work that goes into an FM contract & what our staff on-site do?

Well… wonder no more!

As part of our brand new ‘Stambridge Blog’, we are going to give you unprecedented access to ‘a day on-site’ at an FM contract (and you won’t even need to leave your seat)!

Our ‘day on-site’ kicks off at the modern, vibrant apartments & penthouses at Beaumont Court, Richmond House, Southend-on-Sea…

As you enter the impressive, sleek lobby area, you are instantly given an idea of what to expect throughout the building; with contemporary kitchens & stylish bathrooms, each apartment offers a modern, yet cosy feel.

Facilities on-site include an exclusive gymnasium, rooftop gardens that offer stunning views across Southend, a concierge service & lift access to all floors.

But it’s not all about the visuals! Beaumont Court offers a range of services to its residents, some of which remain unseen but are vital to the running of the building.

And that’s where Stambridge Facilities Management comes in; let us introduce you to some of the team…

Paula Binding-Reeves (Head of Concierge)

Worked at Beaumont Court for 2 Years, 4 Months

“First thing is doing my checks, which involves checking bin areas, the boiler room, patrols, and opening up the 10th-floor roof garden. We take in a lot of small parcels for tenants. An average day also involves dealing with contractors, sorting out problems on-site, and if I cannot resolve them myself, contacting the right people to attend. I will assist tenants who may require help, this can be as minor as reading meters to helping with carrying residents’ shopping. I try to come up with different ideas to make the place more of a community, such as doing events.

We have jobs that are not so much fun like unblocking the bin chutes!

There is never any day the same.” - Paula Binding Reeves

What Does She Think Of The Job?

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Paula said…

“This is a hard question, I enjoy all of my job, but if I can make someone feel special or smile, I know I am doing something right. But I think it is the children, seeing how they have grown, and when they come through that door in the morning saying my name with a huge smile, I think I must be doing something right.” – Paula Binding Reeves

Peter Hobbs (Site Cleaner)

Worked at Beaumont Court for 10 Months

“A typical day on-site would be helping Ian, this would include weeding, watering the plants, washing out the bin store, helping the concierge with the post, then onto cleaning the site… all the while, helping residents with any queries and generally making them smile if I can.” – Peter Hobbs

What Does He Think Of The Job?

When asked what he most enjoys about his job, Peter said…

“The favourite thing about my job is knowing the residents are happy, and also, generally having a laugh with my colleagues.” - Peter Hobbs

We hope this has given you at least a small insight into the outstanding work our FM Team carries out on-site & how Stambridge Facilities Management operates.
