SIA Licence Top-Up Training

The Security Industry Authority has recently made some changes to the training required before gaining a Frontline SIA Licence. You will need to have a first aid qualification before you can begin training for or renew a Door Supervisor Licence. This requirement is intended to improve the skill set of SIA Licence holders.

Qualifications Required

Stambridge Group is offering the top-up training and first aid courses necessary to train for or renew your SIA Licence. The qualification needed for applicants and for licence holders to renew is the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or an equivalent that complies with guidelines set out by the Health and Safety Executive, such as:

  1. First Aid at Work (FAW)
  2. First Person on Scene (FPOS)
  3. First Response Emergency Care (FREC)

This includes all sectors other than close protection and vehicle immobilisation. You will need to have taken a top-up training course or have gained one of these qualifications before you can apply for or renew a licence.

Increasing Skills & Knowledge

The aim of these changes is to ensure that workers in the private security industry will be able to:

  1. Ensure the safety of the public
  2. Adhere to new working practices
  3. Understand the latest changes in the law
  4. Utilise the newest technology
